PROJECT ADRENALINE

July 02, 2007 ©Collin Jordan

This projects inspiration came from the Sobe Adrenaline can. We decided to
use some of the colors, but not incorporate Sobe into the theme.

CHOOSING THE CASE:

Although we have plans to modify a case for a turbine mod, but we ended up finding
a decent case with a turbine already installed on the front. Its not a modified fan, but it
presumably spins while the 120mm behind it takes in air.

The interior also was a somewhat roomy, with a nice modular hd cage that could
easily be taken out for painting.

One of the first tasks was to take out a nasty 120mm stock fan grill on the front.
This was a serious airflow problem because there was already
a mesh grill right behind the front turbine.

Next, the primer was laid down. Getting everything prepped for a few nice coats
of orange.

After the primer dried, the first coat of orange was laid down.

The case after a few coats of a coppery orange. Now for the fluorescent.

Ooo a nice couple coats of that sweet fluorescent orange.

So far so good: Just a few places to touch up and a few places to repaint,
and we're all good!

Here's a little look at the front and the turbine.

UPDATE: JULY 22, 2007

Unfortunately, I skipped a couple of photos on this update. I forgot to take some snaps
when I was cutting and installing the side window. But here are some photos of the
finished case without the components:

Here is a picture of the side panel. I cut out a triple window design and I added on
some chrome/black side molding I got for free from a glass shop

After gluing the molding into place, it was time to glue the Plexiglas into place
and put some heavy objects in place overnight to let it full adhere.

Here are a few photos of the finished case. Next step: installing the system

COMPLETED

The build has been completed! Here are some photos of the project.
Only one last thing to do: Light it up!

I took some flexible pvc tubing I found and made it into split loom. It worked out
to create a nice effect, and bundle the wires up nicely.
